CHILD's Window Mistreatment Nester Style

Ignore my cute husband, who jumped in front of the camera just to bug me--look at that window in the foreground...OK...I'll give you a close-up look:

These are inexpensive window shades ($6 maybe from Home Depot) and I painted them to match our primary color theme. I also hot glued those plastic paper clips to the curtain rod.

Here are two windows I mistreated in a little playroom. I used few pieces of fabric and just layered them.
Here I painted the sill red and stamped it with white paint, then hung some garland I had bought from the dollar store.

Very clever. Girl you are just so talented! Love it. I noticed the SA flag hanging there too. I have one in our school room, but it's the old version from the 80's when I was in SA. For some reason I still like the older one better - maybe because it reminds me of my time spent there seeing it so often.

Hugs,
Elinor

My hubs is from South Africa too. He was born in Zimbabwe(Rhodesia) and grew up in East London, South Africa, then moved to the USA when he was a teenager.

Great job on your mistreatments!

I love your paper clips at the top of your shade! Makes me realize I need to think outside the box with my trim for my curtains.

So glad I'm not alone in my drooling over Sportacus!!! You'll have to come back by and look at the picture I found of him out of his costume (well not ALL the way out!---he's still got clothes on :)!--I'm not THAT kind of blogger!!!).
